Kabul (BNA) Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, and is celebrated by Muslims around the globe as a month of fasting to observe the first revelation of the Quran to Hazrat-e-Muhammad (PBUH) according to Islamic belief. Fast is regarded as one of the Five Pillars of Islam. Fast is started from dawn to sunset, during which the Muslims are abstained from eating, drinking, smoking, and engaging in sexual relations during the daylight hours. Muslims are also instructed to refrain from sinful behaviors that can frustrate the reward of fasting, such as insulting, backbiting, cursing, lying, etc. Food and drink is served daily, before dawn and after sunset. Spiritual rewards are also believed to be multiplied within the month of Ramadan. Fasting for Muslims during Ramadan typically includes the increased offering of prayers and recitation of the holy Quran. This year, Muslims around the globe have received the holy month of Ramadan while, the people in coordination with their security forces are making effort to suppress the enemies particularly, the Daesh—a group that has conducted terrorist activities in a number of Islamic countries
As one day before the holy month of Ramadan, three suicide attackers attacked Logar’s Appeal Court where seven of its staffs had been killed and more than 20 were injured. Likewise, in the same day, a lawmaker, Shir Wali Wardak was martyred by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted near his residence. By conducting unworthy actions and subversive activities, the enemies are trying to prove themselves as Muslims and the supporters of the Islam religion, but they will be suppressed by the Afghan security forces. This is while that the Muslims were fully prepared to welcome the holy month of Ramadan in entire Islamic countries. The Afghan religious people pray during their five times prayers so peace is ensured in their country and ask Allah the almighty to uproot the enemies and help the government of national unity serve the people and address their problems at its earliest.
