MoIC Insists Ban On Early Marriages

Kabul (BNA) A workshop was held for providing a plan to prevent from early and under-aged marriages.
In the workshop, deputy minister of youth affairs for information and culture and acting minister of information and culture Dr. Kamal Saadat spoke and said that deputy ministry of youth affairs in cooperation with ministry of women affairs and United Nations had programs in connection with reduction of under-aged and early marriages, promising that implementing draft would be submitted soon to government.  Acting minister of information and culture further said in the workshop a precision draft would be prepared for prevention of early marriages so that it would be implemented in near future.
In the workshop, acting minister of information and culture said: early and under-aged marriages not only caused health problems for girls but also created legal and family disputes and threatened the life of women and children.
