Kabul (BNA) Abdul Bari Jahani, Minister of Information and Culture was deeply saddened over the death of Jan Agha Alokozai, newscaster and journalist of Radio Azadi.
Minister Jahani has extended in a message the death of the country’s top journalist to the deceased family, relatives, colleagues, journalists and all countrymen, wishing him paradise.
In the message, minister of information and culture while considering Alokozai as a loss for the country’s media added that his eloquence, good voice and home-lovingness would remain unforgettable.
According to another report, the country’s top journalist Jan Agha Alkozai’s body was transferred yesterday from Austria to Kabul.
In transferring ceremony held in Hamid Karzai International Airport was attended by state minister of parliamentary affairs Nabi Farahi, advisor to President on cultural affairs Asadullah Ghazanfar, spokesman to MoIC Haroon Hakimi, representatives of people in the parliament Shukria Barakzai and Gul Pacha Majidi and a number of government officials and members of Alokozai’s family and journalists.
Advisor to President on cultural affairs Asadullah Ghazanfar told BNA that Jan Agha Alokozai was a top journalist of Azadi Radio and had worked for 34 years in journalistic field.
Advisor on media affairs and spokesperson to MoIC while considering death of Alokozai as a loss asserted his place would be empty in the country’s journalist’s society.
Alokozai’s body was transferred from Austria to Kabul and later to Rodat district of Nangarhar for burying in his father’s graveyard. Alokozai was born in Rodat district of Nangarhar and completed his higher education in engineering faculty of Kabul University. He started his work as journalist in National Radio and Television of Afghanistan and had been worked for 13 years for Azadi Radio in Prague, capital city of Czech.
Alokozai passed away due to a disease he was suffering in a hospital in Austria.
