Kabul (BNA) On the occasion of 60th anniversary of Sino-Afghan diplomatic ties, a meeting was held the other day by Dunya University and Swiss UMEF in Kabul.
The purpose behind this meeting was commemorating from the background of expansion of diplomatic ties with China.
One of those who attended at this meeting was minister of higher education, Dr. Farida Momand.
While she was appreciating the efforts made by Dunya University in regard with expansion of ties of Afghanistan with world nations has said that the University of Dunya not only has good achievements in national level but has such achievements in world level as well.
One of these achievements is having stable ties between Afghanistan and China. We hope other universities also make effort in the connection.
At the same time, the China ambassador in Kabul also laying emphasize on expansion of relations between Afghanistan and China and said that his country wanted to have good ties with Afghanistan in academic field and this country is committed to cooperate and support our country.
They emphasized that they wanted to dispatch a number of lecturers from Dunya University to China for gaining experiences.
At this meeting, the rector of Dunya university, Ahmad Shah Sangdel said that our today meeting not only held for strengthening of ties between Afghanistan and China but Dunya university is the first university that has important role in expansion of relations between Afghanistan and world nations. Sangdel added that the university of Dunya and UMEF of Swiss as have friendly and diplomatic ties with other countries; they also have such relations with China too.
We hope other countries also have ties with university of Dunya and China is one of the countries that has good and amicable ties with Afghanistan and so far, rendered more contributions with our country in various fields.
The rector of Dunya University emphasized that if we consider the Silk Route, about 2000 years before, China had good economic ties with Afghanistan and was always searching ways to expand these ties and the people of Afghanistan express their thanks for.
Sangdel asserted that it is planned a delegation composed from Afghanistan authorities that would be heading by Sino-Afghan Friendship Society, Dr. Sayed Makhdoom Raheen to visit China.
The aim of this visit is visiting from China developments in respect to diplomatic and academic relations with that country and also visiting from one of famous universities of that country.
At the end, once more, he wanted the growth of youth talents for access to higher education skills and said that today, the young generation of Afghanistan need knowledge and through this they can reach their country to the summits of successes.
This is in a time that beside the US, China is one of greatest contributors to Afghanistan in recent years and now, this country did to invest in Afghanistan in various fields.
