Kabul (BNA) Important Islamic days and their celebration is the only way to make Islamic rites perpetual and eternal.
These holy and great days include birth anniversary of Great Prophet His departure day, the uprising of Ashura-ye-Hussaini in the months of Muharram and Safar and captivity of his family members and finally Emam Hussain martyrdom together with his seventy two followers. With celebration of holy days and commemoration of these historical days we respect the Islamic Ummah and make the clean and pure soul of Great Prophet (PBUH) happy and fulfill our heavy responsibility. On the occasion of 10th of Muharram (Ashura-ye-Hussaini) our correspondent had the following interview with Ms. Zahra Qarizada spokeswoman and founder of Chendawal Zainabia Takya Khana:
Q: What was the content of Emam Hussain uprising? What problems existed in Islamic society in that time that caused him to resort to this invincible uprising?
A: the content of Emam Hussain uprising was defending the Islamic religion which was on the verge of collapse. He distinguished that the only way was this movement and uprising while its conclusion was assassination. He wanted to start a movement to bring change in people ideas and thoughts. He was recognized by Muslims and the Muslims had remembered the words of Islam Great Prophet (PBUH) on Emam Hussain (MGBPWH). Whenever the people learned that Yazid has martyred Emam Hussain, they noticed one important point to analyze Yazid work, programs and ideas and ultimately concluded that he is not only not deserving to be caliph and ruler of Islamic society but also he is not even an ordinary Muslim.
Q: Why Emam Hassein took his family with himself in this uprising?
A: Because he wanted to prevent the enemies’ conspiracies. In the beginning of his departure from Medina, he wrote a recommendation letter which has been registered in the history and included awareness aspects: In that recommendation letter, he wrote: I want to promote virtue and prevent sin. I have not moved and upraised to achieve a position in this world. I moved to bring reforms in society because the society has become corrupt and the people have taken away from religion. When Emam Hussein came to Mecca from Medina it was precisely considers with the months in which the Muslims across the world were preparing to depart to Mecca. He wanted to talk to pilgrims of different Islamic countries there and explain and describe qualities of Yezid, and endangering of religion and the Muslims responsibility, against Yezids. With this move in Mecca, he made big propaganda exploitation because in that era there were no media or press.
Emam Hussein chose a central point for gathering of people and addressed the people. When the audiences returned to their native countries, they took Hussein message and thus it was disseminated throughout the world of Islam, because, the world of Islam was waiting to learn about the conclusion of Emam Hussein dispute with Yazid. The conclusion was unexpected, because Emam wanted all people to unite and eliminate oppression together. But they told Emam that we don’t have ability and the outcome is death. Emam left his recommendation letter to his brother Emam Mohammad Hanifa and moved towards Kofa and Syria (Damascus). But Emam Hanifa advised him to go to Yemen or other place and don’t go to Kofa.
Emam Hussein replied, “My brother! I should go to a mission to Iraq because Allah has asked me and my colleagues to attend this ordeal of Allah for salvation of Islam holy religion and be martyred. So other people could see that the guardians of religion are fond of this way”. Emam Hanifa said, “Whenever you are ready to sacrifice yourself it is not necessary to take your family members”. Emam Hussein said, “Since it is the will of Allah that my family members must be in captivity so this uprising must not be extinguished. The outcome was according to Emam Hussein desire. In this uprising Emam Hussein and his seventy two colleagues were martyred in Karbala desert and his family members were captive. Yazid wanted to celebrate his victory unaware of this that this celebration caused his palace to collapse.
Yazed arranged a meeting wanted show to the participants that although Zinab Emam Hussein sister and granddaughter of Great Prophet (PBUH) is a captive would talk in such a way that will astonish the participants. Here Yazid became notorious and a Christian envoy protested and addressed Yazid: Oh Yazid you had told that you killed a person who had upraised against your rule and took his family members captive. But we learned that you have taken the family of your prophet captive. Yazid became shameful and express remorse and blamed Ibne Ziad for this crime. But it was too late and the people left the meeting and organized mourning of prophet family members.
