Kabul (BNA) The Central Statistics Office (CSO) of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan has recently released results of preliminary socio- economic and demographic survey in Nimroz province. In this function beside CSO leading body, deputy ministers, heads of independent government departments, assistant director of UNFPA, and authorized representatives of a number of international organization and foreign agencies had also been attended. It should be mentioned that Nimroz is the eleventh province, where socio-economic and demographic survey for 1395 has successfully been carried out with the cooperation of local population and government departments. Socio-economic and demographic survey has been drafted as a sustainable project to collect basic information on socio-economic specifications and important demographic indexes of population and pave the way for further experiences of CSO employees.
This is the only survey that provides local planning requirements and data for preparing of small development plans. In this function, important goals of socio-economic and demographic survey were discussed that include collecting and preparing of data, data on vulnerable population and for humanitarian assistance. This survey has covered 50 percent of total families in each village and urban area during which information have been collected on each family members and for the rest 50 pc families, family leaders and members were asked through listing. The main indexes of survey include age, sex, migration, education, job related problems, employment level, births rate, parents living conditions etc. these data were collected at district level through the Nimroz province. According to this survey over half of the population during survey were under 14 years old that denotes a young population in this province.
