Kabul Municipality Streamlines Bureaucracy Process

Kabul (BNA) Hundreds of outdated processes have been modernized to better serve the citizens of Kabul.
In order to provide best services to Kabul residents, Kabul Municipality announced the simplification of six administrative processes in close cooperation with Independent Commission for Administrative Reforms and Civil Services.
These six processes are now being operational in Kabul Municipality. Masihullah Mahbob Kabul Deputy Mayor during a joint press conference at the Government Media and Information Center announced that one of the six administrative processes “Expropriation of lands and returning new lands” which used to take 350 days to get done—now gets finished within 60 days. These processes were time consuming and antiquated. By making them simple, modern and short, Kabul residents can easily process their administrative papers within a short period of time as mentioned above. In addition, the Mayor added that the simplification of these processes will also prevent corruption and speed up service delivery to Kabul residents in a transparent manner. Mr. Ahmad Massoud Tokhi, Head of Civil Services in the Independent Commission for Administrative Reforms and Civil Services who described the simplification and modernization of these six processes as a major achievement to the government of Afghanistan. He said these processes will also prevent abuse of authority and help in the Government’s fight against corruption. Mr. Tokhi added that his office proposed 159 administrative processes to President Ghani six months ago for simplification and modernization which were approved by Afghan cabinet. He said his office has implemented 94 processes out of 159 processes within different ministries and 58 others were implemented by ministries themselves. Kabul Municipality have undertaken these steps in order to provide the best possible services to the residents of Kabul in a transparent manner.
