Herat City (BNA) At a cost of AFN 49,328,000 funded by the National Solidarity Program of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD/NSP) 37 welfare projects have been completed in Gulran, Farsi, Guzara and Anjeel districts of western Herat province.
According to information of relation and publication department of MRRD to BNA, these development projects encompass the construction of community centers, protection walls, water dams, schools, general bathrooms, culverts, sport gymnasiums, reconstruction of water canals, excavation of water wells equip with hand pumps, water supply networks, micro hydro power stations and gravelling of rural roads.
Approximately, 7,000 families in various communities had an opportunity to gain access to basic human needs upon completion of these projects.
Since its inception in Herat province, the NSP has been able to execute 4,608 development projects in different sectors including transport, water, power, irrigation, livelihoods and education.
