Kabul (BNA) Girl’s International Day was marked in Kabul, with a message read out from the country’s Chief Executive, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, the BNA said Tuesday.
The message read out by Sajia, head of the women and youth affairs of the CE office, part of which called girls the key part of the country’s society and great capital of human, the statement said. “Providing girls with educations ground would help them could reach enrichment, in term of art, idea and spirituality,” said the statement adding the girls can play significant role in all aspects of life. Deputy Minister of Information and Culture on Publication Affairs, Sayeda Mojgan Mostafavi spoke at the meeting complaining about what she called the position of women and girls in Afghanistan was something against what the holy Islam has considered for them, said the statement.
Thanking the girl international day, the holy Quran and Prophet’s hadiths, Mostafavi said have considered high position for women even higher than men, as said ‘The paradise is under the feet of mothers,’ the statement quoted. She said women and girls, despites facing different challenges had good achievements in different fields. The deputy minister thanked the ministry of education for having good achievements in the field of girls’ education in the country, the statement added. She said an educated girl could help a family get educated, asking the government of national unity to provide better ground for improvement of the youth, particularly the girls in the country.
