Exhibition ‘Czech Gems’ Opened In Kabul

Kabul (BNA) Ambassador Miroslav Toman opened the exhibition ‘Czech Gems’ at the Babur garden together with garden’s general manager, Ahmad Shah Wardak here on Sunday.
Speaking to The Kabul Times correspondent, Ambassador of Czech Republic to Kabul said that the exhibition “Czech Gems” consists of 103 photos screening Czech sights in different areas of life - science, culture, architecture, history and sports.
“I am very much grateful to have the exhibition for the second time here in Babur garden. Last Year we had the exhibition ‘Czech Castles’,” the Ambassador Miroslav Toman said, adding the exhibition ‘Czech Gems’ photographed from a number of noteworthy and successful moments from Czech Republic’s history and the present.  “The exhibition presents prominent Czech personalities, such as Comenius (education), Mendel (science – genetics), Wichterle (science physics), Capek (literature) and also you can learn about sports, which the Czech Republic famous in the world,” the Ambassador added.
According to Czech diplomat, the exhibition is a colorful reminder of the many successes and also presentations of what the citizens of Czech Republic in the past and currently managed. He went on saying that the exhibition at its very days has received record number of visitors, including students and the young generation which is encouraging.
Meanwhile Ahmad Shah Wardak, Babur garden’s general manager said that the garden is a recreational area and a cultural institution where many foreigners in Afghanistan as well as other local people prefer to visit, as according to him is a safe and convenient place for everyone.
“Besides being recreational area, Babur garden holds many exhibitions, in which we have held exhibition from UNESCO on ‘Show us Afghanistan you are proud of’ and the first Czech Exhibition ‘Czech Castles’,” Wardak added.
Currently, the National Museum of Afghanistan’s Mes Aynak collection is being exhibited in Czech Republic and has received a record number of visitors.
According to Czech and Afghan officials, the exhibition in Kabul and Prague is aimed to boost bilateral cultural cooperation.
Czech Republic has contributed Afghanistan in different spheres of education, culture and military. The country annually also provides scholarships to Afghan youths.
