Results of Balkh Socio-Economic Survey Declared

Kabul (BNA) In a press conference held in Kabul, the Central Statistics Office (CSO) has declared the primary results of socioeconomic survey, technically funded by UN and conducted in northern Balkh province.
At the outset, Shir Mohammad Jami Zada, CSO caretaker pointed out to importance of socioeconomic survey in Balkh and said, ‘the survey has been practiced in cooperation of people and government organizations in 1394.’ The socioeconomic and demographic survey has been designed as a durable project to collect the socioeconomic specifications of the population demographic and also expertise the CSO staff on designing and performing of surveys. Shir Mohammad added that the main aims of the socioeconomic and demographic survey are as follow:
Collection of figures on decision-making should be provided based on evidences, policy proposal, planning, management, etc. Methodologically, the survey will cover 50pc of the families. Age, gender, immigration, education, literacy, job problems, birthday registration and some other related issues will be considered in the survey, Shir Mohammad further said. A difference between this survey with other ones is that the figures of socioeconomic and demographic survey will be provided district-wide, he added. The survey has been conducted in all parts of Balkh province, he went on to say. Expressing glad on importance of the said survey, Mr. Bent, head of the UN Fund briefed the media on socioeconomic survey. This is while that the main problem before the parliamentary elections is lack of exact number of the population in the country and if it is cleared it will guarantee the elections’ transparency.
