Kabul (BNA) President of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani welcomed the last caravan of the country’s hajj pilgrims at Hamid Karzai International Airport here Friday evening, saying that necessary arrangements and facilities should be provided to the pilgrims ever year, a statement from the presidential press office said.
According to the statement, in the ceremony held on this occasion, Minister of Hajj and Endowment Faiz Mohammad Osmani thanked president Ghani’s serious attention which led to successful completion of the program, adding two and eight days ago the first caravan of the Afghan hajj pilgrims left Kabul for Makkah and now they have successfully returned back to their homeland.
“Besides providing necessary arrangements, we have also saved around 3 million USD comparing to the previous years.” Minister Osmani noted.
The minister went on saying that ten Afghan pilgrims were died during the Hajj ceremony, where four babies were also born, adding the trainers were taking well care of pilgrims and his ministry will spare no efforts to further provide facilities in the coming years. Representing other Hajj Pilgrims, Hajji Mohammad Younus thanked the Ministry of Hajj and Endowment, adding that trainers were guiding them in a good manner and that the foods and transportation were also satisfactory. Thanking Ministry of Hajj and Endowment’s officials, the president said that it is immense pleasure for both the nation and the government to see happy face of the pilgrims, adding any government official that provides facility to the people and making them satisfy is indeed a matter of proud.” The government’s first and last job is to serve the nation,” the president added.
