Kabul (BNA) A number of people and experts expressed different opinions on the consumption of US$15.2b aids committed in Brussels conference held with the participation of o70 countries and over 30 international organizations.
Economist Azrakhsh Hafizi said, “Once again the world community granted a generous aid to Afghanistan and pledged over US$15b until 2020 to Afghanistan. These aids show that despite of current shortages and failures, the world community has not been disappointed than the future of this country and it’s upon the Afghan government to use transparency in consumption of these as stance. The NUG should be loyal to its pledges. Talking on the continuation of the world assistance in the future, Azrakhsh said, Afghanistan should introduce an acceptable record of its commitment to the world including serious and decisive war on corruption and transparency in accountability. A lecturer at the Faculty of Economics, Kabul University Saifuddin Suhoon said, “The Afghan government has to assure the people and the world on transparent consumption of aids, and good governance. The world aids don’t mean underestimating current shortages and weaknesses of the Afghan government. Although the EU foreign Policy Chief announced that if even the Afghan government fails to bring reforms, these aids would be continuing. A strong question raises here that why despite of all emphasizes the Afghan government has not achieved remarkable success in war on corruption and establishment of the rule of law?
Civil activist Safia Hanava said, “Beside the world community emphasize on transparent consumption of its aids, I would like to ask the Afghan government to introduce clear plans on the Afghan women capacity building because these women are deserving for such a gesture and it’s the responsibility of the NUG. She added the bodies directly responsible to fight corruption should make sincere coordinated efforts in this direction and the government should be decisive in this war. Although it is a common problem but legal and judicial bodies should be sincere.
Solaiman a resident of Kabul said, Despite of the world aids and no substantial change has been seen in the people life. Sanam a student of Education University said, “I appreciate the global aids to Afghanistan but the NUG should be more careful with these aids and should try to bring change in the people living conditions and part of these aids should be invested in education and higher education sectors.
