Kabul (BNA) The European Union (EU) has said it would send back thousands of Afghan refugees, with no still accepted citizenship in the European countries, under a an agreement signed with the government of Afghanistan.
The assertions was made prior to the Brussels Summit held in Belgium, where the international donors discussed economic aids to Afghanistan. The European Union warned that it would freeze its aids to Afghanistan, if it failed to cooperate with the union. Afghanistan makes one of the second largest refugee countries, after Syria, as the EU said Afghanistan should remain committed to the agreement signed between the two sides, under which those Afghan refugees with no citizenship in the European nations and are not ready to return home, should be accepted as returnees and provide asylums inside its land. Under the agreement, after 6 months of the signature, the maximum number of returnees has been estimated to be 50 Afghans each day to take flight into their country, but the number of them with the EU considered to send into the county was not limited.
The agreement included women and children to be expected to return under full supervision and protection measures, according to the EU.
The minister of refugees and repatriates, Sayyed Hussain Alemi Balkhi refrained from joining the meeting in which the agreement was signed but, assigned one of his deputies to do the job. While Afghanistan is facing critical security conditions; everywhere in the country, with Kunduz in the north, Helmand in the sought, the Afghans waiting for citizenship in the European countries increases. German Chancellor, Angela Markel become decisive about massive refuge of hundreds of thousands of people to the European countries, saying a firm plan should be made in this field.
Inside the country, under the sensitive condition, this would be too difficult to provide tens of thousands of repatriates with areas equipped with all needed essentials, particularly security.
