Kabul (BNA) At least 36 people lost their lives and 25 others were wounded following traffic accident occurred in Kabul-Kandahar highway this morning.
Samim Khpelwak spokesman of Kandahar governor with confirmed the incident told, the event took place at local time 6:30 am Sunday morning, while a 303 passenger bus smashed with fuel tanker in Jalak region, close to Qalat city the provincial capital of Zabul in Kabul-Kandahar highway.
Khpelwak added, 36 commuters of the bus were killed and 25 others were wounded following the accident.
The injured of the incident timely taken to Kandahar and Qalat hospitals, the source added.
It has been said, the passenger bus was belong to Maiwand Transportation Company and moving from Kandahar toward Kabul city.
Meanwhile, a delegation dispatched to the area to assess the reason of the bloodiest event.
High speed, roads narrow, lack of traffic signs, destruction of roads and insecurity are the main reasons behind such bloody accidents in highways.
