Sadat Hints At Important Role of Women, Youth In Upcoming Parliamentary Elections

Kabul (BNA) Deputy Minister on Youth Affairs, Dr. Kamal Sadat insists on increasing role of youth and women in upcoming parliamentary elections.
Delivering speech in a conference “Women and youth’s important role in election” which was organized by the FEFA, Kamal Sadat said that women and youth should have increase role in upcoming election, calling holding of the conference as the mean to find solutions to the problems of women and youth in the country.
Speaking in the event, CEO of the Free and Fair Election Forum of Afghanistan Yousuf Rashid said that considering the current situation, the amendments to the electoral law would increase influences of the powerful individuals as well as would weaken the role of youth and women in the country. According to Rashid, if the government doesn’t pay attention to such issue, the two stratum of the society would face threats during the election.
Declaration of the basic principles of women and youth’s important role in election has been prepared by FEFA within two chapters and 20 articles and was shared with government representatives on last Wednesday.
The conference was attended by deputy Minister of Policy for the Women’s Ministry, Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs for the Ministry of Information and Culture, Malali Shenwari representative of the presidential office, Hashmatullah Radfar and Sajia Behgam on behalf the chief executive office and Zuhra Yousuf on behalf of the first lady office.
