Kabul (BNA) Kabul citizens’ overall council organized a seminar on peace and security, aiming to find a roadmap for Afghanistan to witness a durable peace and stability.
Talking in the ceremony, Dr. Sayed Makhdoom Raheen chairman of the council and former minister of Information and Culture said that Afghanistan’s backwardness is due to four decades of civil war, adding that there might be no country in the world to have witnessed such pains as the Afghan nation did.
Dr. Raheen added that efforts to bring peace in the country have always been failed, adding that peace cannot be begged, as it will help the militants to be wilder than ever.
Hinting to achievements of the National Security Forces, the deputy spokesman for the Ministry of National Defense, gen. Mohammad Radmanesh said that Kabul is the center of politics, and the Kabul citizens have always demanded peace and stability in the country, adding that people of Kabul have suffered much pains in the past four decades.
“The Afghan National Security Forces have foiled most of the enemies’ plots during the past 24 hours in different provinces of the country. The militants wanted to recapture Kunduz, but was defeated by the ANSF and received heavy casualties”, Radmanesh told to the seminar participants.
Speaking related to the peace and security, Ghafoor Liwal deputy to Ministry of Border and Tribal Affairs said that peace has been changed to a stereotype in the last 40 years, requesting the country’s scholars, lecturers and researchers to get together and find a clear roadmap for the stalled peace process. The Seminar was concluded with speeches of the researchers from Academy of Sciences of Afghanistan, lecturers from Kabul University and a number of Kabul citizens on ways to achieve peace and security in the country.
