Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani said yesterday that the resolution readout at women conference on “The Talent of Afghan Women and Its Promotion from the Viewpoint of Islam” would soon be changed into an action program, BNA reported.
In the conference organized by some religious scholars, women and members of civil society, organizer of the conference, Ms. Shahla Farid briefed the audience on the objectives of the conference.
Addressing the conference, a religious scholar, Mawlawi Daneshjo said that Islam rejects violence against women.
The resolution readout at the conference highlighted the status of women in Islam in elimination of violence against women, was appreciated by the president.
The president promised that the resolution would be discussed in cabinet meeting to find a framework for its implementation.
To eliminate violence against women, the president noted that women, religious scholars and civil society should work in coordination with each other to find solution for the problems. The Ulama, he said can give awareness on the subject through Masjids.
President Ghani also said that 300 million Afghanis have been allocated to build Masjids in the country and the budget would be increased next year.
He also said that 36,000 acres of lands of Ministry of Hajj and Endowment had been regained from the land grabbers.
