Women’s Role Important For Development

Monday March 7, 2016

Kabul (BNA) Our historical and ancient land has always nurtured many heroes and heroines in the course of history.
Allah the almighty created the man and woman to live together and to complete one another all lifelong. Thus, Islam opened the door to women to wade through all the fields of struggle in life side by side with men, to support and help each other and complete one another. Moreover, Islam did not separate the man and woman in roles. Once we understand that justice embraces everything positive in life, and that evil comprises everything negative in it, we will then realize that a woman is the best partner to a man in building up life. And, as like as the men are responsible of the society, women are also equally responsible in a society they live in. Furthermore, a woman’s role is not exclusively in the house, she can work inside and also outside the house. Accordingly, we can say that Islam had opened the door to women to enjoy life as a whole, in contrast to what some people may assume that it had tied them down in their characteristics as females. Therefore, we review in here the activities and social lives of a number of Ariayee women, such as, Sindukht, Gerd Afardin, Mandana, Atousa Masagita and many more whom could be good wives to their husbands and also the best advisors and friends.
Gerd Afarin was a brave heroine whom by wearing man’s dressing had fought Sohrab and had been captivated by him, but, she could finally escape from him with smartness. Ferdousi has named her as a fighter and brave woman in Shahnama. There are many more heroines, such as, Rabe Balkhi, Gowharshad Bigom, Mahjouba Herawi, Malalai, Aisha-e-Durani who had always fought for freedom and equalization of rights and are the examples to today’s women. Women play significant role in life that men can’t, as the best law to mankind is sharia. Women will the captive of men’s traditions unless ignorance is not removed in a country.
Growing of ignorance will destroy both men and women lives. According to a statistic of Afghanistan’s Independent Human Right Commission (AIHRC), 2579 cases of violence against women have been recorded in 1394, out of which 169 of them had been tragically murdered. The most tragic ones were Farkhunda’s murder case in Kabul and Rokhshana in Ghor whom had been tragically stoned to death. Therefore, it is necessary to an educated man and woman to remove tribal tradition in this regard at its earliest to have a comfort life and far from ignorance.
