Kabul (BNA) The 61st session on elimination of violence against women held in Bamyan with participation of the Publication Deputy Minister, Sayeda Mojgan Mostafavi, Shah Jahan Yazdan Parast advisor to Ministry of Women’s Affairs, Judge Rahima Rezayee chief of family court to Women Ministry, Aziza Ahmadi director for Bamyan women affairs and the human rights in charge of the said province, here the other day, BNA reported.
At the outset, Asif Mobaligh, deputy provincial governor welcomed the participants, asking them to spare no efforts in elimination of violence against women as well as a subject on abovementioned issue needed to be included in the education curriculum of the country.
Pointing to holding of the session in Bamyan in order to review the women’s situation in the said province, advisor to Women’s Affairs Ministry Shah Jahan Yazdan Parast said that the women’s living condition in Bamyan has been reviewed and the report would be submitted to presidential palace.
Talking on elimination of violence against women, Prof. Sayeda Mojgan Mostafavi said that the violence against women in Bamyan has reached to its minimum level, praising the provincial directorate of women in Bamyan for its tireless efforts, calling clerics and tribal elders’ role as crucial for elimination of the said phenomenon from the country.
Mostafavi termed women’s role as weak in Bamyan provincial offices, asking the officials to recruit women according to civil services law which shows 30 percent of women’s share in government agencies.
At the end, Bamyan’s provincial director of Human Rights, Rohullah Forogh, said that the majority of programs held to raise awareness on women rights in the said province.
Lack of women’s presence in Judicial organs, lack of supporting agencies for women’s without caretakers, no treatment centers for addicts and no proper job opportunities for Bamyan women termed as the biggest challenges and was proposed to government officials in order to address such issues.
