Kabul (BNA) The Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) asked the human rights and international humanitarian aid organizations to provide better accommodation for Moria migrants in Greece.
According to a statement by the AIHRC released Monday, migrants – mainly the Afghan refugees – are in tough situation after fire engulfed Moira camp.
Based on the international rights of the migrants, human rights, including humanitarian aid, organizations should reach out to those languishing at the camp, the statement said.
“Human rights organization and international aid organizations are called upon to pay serious attention to improving the housing situation of refugees, mainly their access to health and essential supplies,” the statement read.
The remark came days after Moria migrants’ camp in Lesbos Island was set on fire, destroying most of the facilities available for the asylum seekers.
More than 13,000 refugees from different parts of the world are stranded at the camp, of which 7,000 of them are Afghan national.
