Kabul (BNA) A protested turned violent after the police forces opened fire on protesters in North-western Ghor province, leaving at least four dead. Dozens of residents of the province launched a protest close to provincial governor’s office earlier yesterday, protesting against the unfair distribution of aid by the government.
According to reports, the police forces opened fire to disperse the angry protesters after they started hurling stones towards the governor’s office. The eyewitnesses say at least four protesters lost their lives and at least 17 others have sustained injuries. However, Mohammad Arir Abir, a spokesperson for the provincial government said two people lost their lives in the incident and five others sustained injuries.
