Kabul (BNA) Addressing the State Accountability to Nation Program conference at the Government Media and Information Center (GMIC) on Sunday, Sayed Hussain Alemi Balkhi, Minister of the Refugees and Repatriates (MoRR) said repatriating the refugees was the top priority of Afghanistan’s government and in order to achieve this aim in FY 1398, they have facilitated the opportunities for more than 500,000 repatriations.
“This ministry in total has planned 38 main activities for the FY 1398 of which 27 activities are completed, 10 activities are ongoing and one another activity is postponed,” he added.
He said, the total number of forced and voluntary returnees from Iran, Pakistan, European countries, and other countries to the country are estimated to 548,607. “The MoRR has provided health quality support to more than 230,000 displaced families during the fiscal year 1398, which solves parts of the health issues of internal displaced families.”
The ministry said that during the fiscal year 1398, 721,182 displaced people were accommodated in safe locations of Afghanistan.
According to the National policy of displaced, opportunities of integration for 63349 internal displaced families were established into their own villages. 7219 families were relocating from the Ministry's discretionary budget and 56070 families have returned to their original locations spontaneously, the minister added,
“During the fiscal year 1398, the MoRR provided humanitarian assistance for 116657 families which are addressing the needs and other problems of these displaced families,” the minister concluded as saying.
