Faizabad (BNA) Due to flash floods 82 residential houses have been demolished in Sheghnan district, Badakhshan province the night before last.
Sayed Abdullah Hamayoun Dehqan head of counter disaster in Badakhshan province confirming the incident told BNA, the night before last as a result of flash flood 82 residential houses were completely destroyed and 32 other residential houses partially damaged in Roshan region, Sheghnan district of the province.
For each affected family has been distributed five blankets and 100 bottles chlorine for filter of drinking water, Dehqan added.
Dehqan further added, following the natural disaster more than 700 jeribs of agricultural land, roads and canals were damaged and 317 livestock wasted as well.
According to Dehqan, health office of Agha Khan Foundation and representative of Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) have ready to assist foodstuff for the affected families.
Counter disaster department in the province have been assisted 82 cartons of milk, 41 sacks of macaroni, 27 sacks of black tea and 50 cartons of biscuit for the families.
Children Protection Institute has been distributed babes cloths to the families as well.
