Taluqan (BNA) Asphalting of a street in Talaqan, the provincial capital of Takhar province, with the length of 15 kilometers has been kicked off yesterday, BNA reported.
Asphalting work on the said street was inaugurated during a ceremony attended by Abdul Haq Shafaq the provincial governor, head of the Rural Rehabilitation and Development and some provincial elders, according to the agency.
Provincial Director of rural rehabilitation and development said in the project work has been facilitated for 9,038 people, while hundreds of people will have access to the provincial capital, after the project completion, said the sources.
The main aim of the project was also said to provide work for poor people, particularly those returning from neighboring countries, the agency said adding by the completion of the project, several villages will be connected together.
