Sheberghan (BNA) A water dam was put into exploitation in suburb of Sheberghan city.
Spokesman for Jawzjan governor told BNA, the water dam has been constructed at a total cost of 82 million Afghanis over a period of 19 months from assistance of World Bank.
In inaugural ceremony of the project, Lutfullah Azizi governor of Jawzjan said that 40,000 hectares of agricultural land would be irrigated by exploitation of this project, and more than 214,000 residents of Sheberghan city and Khwaja Dokoh district benefited from water of this project.
The peasants covered by this dam expressed their gratitude to the World Bank’s Ministry of Energy and Water Development and the leadership of Jawzjan province to solve their water problems.
