Kabul (BNA) Second Vice-President Sarwar Danesh in an event held yesterday on the introduction of Husn Banu Ghazanfar as the new acting chairperson of the Afghan Red Crescent Society (ARCS) considered implementation of a range of reforms within the ARCS as necessary, saying that ARCS was a public institution and subordinated by the law. Addressing the event, Second Vice-President said: “Recently, law on Red Crescent’s management affairs and its statute have not been properly implemented and for long period of time, general assembly of the society has not been held to select leading board and other officials in accordance to the law and modify and approve its statute.”
He added that all affairs of the ARCS as appointments, financial, incomes, expenses, properties, contracts and procurements should be transparently managed and reported to the people, asking the new leadership of ARCS to urgently address the respective problems. In the event, the newly-appointed acting chairperson of ARCS Dr. Husn Banu Ghazanfar promised that would make effort to follow all tasks of ARCS in accordance to the law. In the event, acting minister of information and culture Hasina Safi while congratulating to Husn Banu Ghazanfar on her appointment as acting chairperson of ARCS wished her success in running the institution.
