Herat City (BNA) The construction works of 49 water canals have been completed and put into exploitation in Pashtoon Zarghon district, western Herat province.
According to BNA report, the water canals has been constructed with a sum of 138 million Afghanis funded by Islamic Development Bank.
The water canals irrigating 4900 acres of land and settle problems of floods in 30 villages of the district.
It is mentionable that the construction works of water dams and water canals of Shaflan, Yahya Abad, Taqcha, Qestan, Dasht Nizan, Ghoperwa, Rondan, Turan, Borya Baf Afghani, Borya Baf Qabchaqi, Marwa and Nahr Nawan are ongoing with a sum of about 273 million Afghanis in the district and will be completed at the end of the current year.
